Pakistan-India - The catastophic 7.6 magnitude earthquake that occured on Saturday, October 8, 2005, effected the northern part of Pakistan as well as Northwest India and parts of Afghanistan, bringing devastation to many.

The mountainous terrain and inaccessible nature of the area made it nearly impossible to assess casualties and damages at first.

WPF stepped in to help with what was estimated to be that nearly 74,000 dead, 70,000 injured, and 3 million displaced. WPF provided emergency shelters to people in the Mansehra District through Shelter Now International. Here they were able to purchase temporary housing for 12,500 people.
